2003 Side Grills-Do They Differ?

At issue here is 2003 S that has recently had some body work done on the left side. I've noticed that the left side grill is slightly different than the right side. It's the same shape but has a lip on the forward edge and doesn't fit quite right. Could this grill piece be from a different year?

97-02 grills are the same & left side is different from right as you describe. Grills were redesigned in 03-04. None of the grills seem to fit perfectly, especially once they are removed & reinstalled. I assume the little ridge on the left, drivers side is there to slow passing air & increase airflow into the air cleaner.
