go out and listen to as many as possible. Porsche actually invested hundreds of hours and mucho $$$ into the OEM exhaust so think about that before you decide to swap out the old one. Porsche spends millions of dollars just on exhaust tuning each year so think about that before you buy. It's no wonder some aftermarket systems actually lost hp.....Porsche does it's homework and spends mucho $$ on this kinda stuff.

Hi,

If this is your 1st Boxster, I'd suggest getting the Car and driving it for a few months as is. As Adam indicated, Porsche did a pretty good job conceptualizing and manufacturing the Boxster.

There isn't that much room for improvement unless you really lay out the $$$. About the only serious thing it lacks is Displacement, and it seems the 997 and Cayman Boys have control over this domain.

There's lots of places to waste money trying to improve a Boxster, and few places where that money will yield positive benefit beyond a placebic effect.

An OEM Boxster is more capable than about 95% of their Owners. If you aren't familiar with, or have a lot of Experience and Training with Sport Driving, then, the single greatest investment you can make is in yourself.

You'll be amazed how much more you can get out of a Stock Boxster once you know how. There are many Porsche Driving schools as well as many others which can boost your skills tremendously. Good Luck!...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

It's too bad that Porsche does not offer the Sport Exhaust option with the Boxster, like they do with the Carrera They actually had this option listed in an early version of the 987/987S 2006 Order Guide. They claimed it was a misprint, and is not offered on the Boxster.

The nice feature on the Sport Exhaust is that you can turn it on & off (by-pass).

YEH thanks guys, its a bit of a learning curv with anything new, just trying to
see what this cars about and what exhaust mods are out there.
I'm not buying this car for myself but i may drive it once in a while and i like
a little noise.
I know it has a pedigree sound like all porsche, but i am a bit mad.....
My pals ruf twin turbo thingy is mad but still a little quiet for me,
[even though it squeels like a pig]
So i'm lookin at what i may be able to do with this porsche sound, a little
louder i'd be happy.
