CDR23 / Bose System help please

Hello,
I'm a new owner of a 2004 S Triptronic that has the CDR23 & Bose system still installed from the factory. I would like to replace the CDR23 and purchase something that will allow me to plug in my Touch or iphone and have Bluetooth capabilities.

I hope someone can provide some advice to a newbie. Do I need to remove the Bose system or can a new unit be wired into the Bose?

Thanks in advance.

If you want to keep the stock radio, look into a Dension unit that allows aux. inputs. Not sure if it's Bluetooth compatible but worth a look.

I dislike the designs of most aftermarket head units and suffer through CDs to keep the factory look.

You have a MOST fibreoptic system fitted at the moment so you will need to remove the CDR23, amplifier and CD changer if fitted. Fortunately these go for a good price on ebay.

I have a Pioneer double din now, front and rear speakers are run off the head unit and door subwoofers from an Alpine amp I fitted on the bracket where the Porsche amplifier used to fit. There are lots of installation guides around, I used the one on Renntech.

The problem you will have is your subwoofer is in the rear shelf and these are tricky to wire up. Cant help you with that as I dont have Bose but there are plenty of threads on the subject.

Makes the car feel up to date. I now have navigation, hands free, playing music from micro SD, USB, bluetooth streaming plus CD's, DVD's, radio, ability to use apps off your phone, reverse camera etc etc.
