97 AOS Parts Verification

I have 105K miles on the original AOS and figured it would be a good idea to change it. For instructions, I found Brad Roberts tutorial with pictures. Since I have a '97 my understanding is using the new AOS requires additional parts and I would like to verify what I am ordering from Pelican.

Based on Pelican for the '97 I need:
1. The AOS: 996-107-023-04-M100
2. Vent Line for Oil Separator, Boxster (1997-99):996-107-145-06-M100
3. O-ring for Vent Line, Boxster/Boxster S (1997-04)999-707-446-40-M127
4. Oil Separator Hose Clamp, Lower (35 X 12), Boxster/Boxster S (1997-02)999-512-630-00-M100

I have seen where Pelican has listed parts that were already included with other parts and wanted to double check that all of the above are needed.

Finally, with the '97 if I need to also change the vent line (#2 above) does that significantly impact the complexity of the job, I don't believe that was factored into the instruction that Brad provided.

Thanks!

The vent line is easy to get to so it shouldn't take long to replace.

Pelican gives you a cool pre-sprung clamp but I still prefer a screw clamp.

Completed the AOS replacement. The original '97 does have a different AOS version than the new part and the vent line (part #2 above) is required. The O-ring, Part #3, is not required….or I missed something. Paying an extra $2.25 is not an issue, but it did take some time looking at parts and parts diagrams to convince myself that the o-ring was for the vent line and the vent line already has o-rings installed on both ends.

The AOS I replaced was original, nearly 106K miles, and had significant amounts of oil in the vent line….in failure I assume. I did not take the time to clean the manifold….maybe another day.
