Weird Top Issue

The temperature down here in Texas has been cooling off lately. I've had an odd convertible/window issue where the windows will randomly roll down (at the same time) when I hit a harder bump in the road. Note that this only occurs when it is cold out, not when it's around 80 or so. This makes me pull over and 're-lach' the top which takes a couple tries for the lach to 'work' or 'connect'.

I suspect that the convertible top microswitch contacts have either corroded or no longer in contact withe the frame. This part is located right behind the top lach, correct?

Am I on the right track?

I cheated and stuck a couple pieces of duct tape into the switch. Fixed it for me.

Kefboy, I think what's happening to you is what happened to me. In cold weather, everything shrinks a tad and loosens up and the center hook doesnt force the microswitch lever to stay in place the way it does when the hellish heat we experience is around.

Replacing the switch is a good idea. They you won't have to mess with it for a long time. That's what I did years ago.
