I always get so pissed when I see some person sitting next to me trying to hide the fact that they arent turing off there phone...you know cause it is more important to say Screw You airline and flight attendant than it is to actually just shut the thing off.

Nope, you got it wrong. This picture was taken from outside the plane. You know that self important guy who makes the whole plane wait because he's too busy to be on time? Well it appears Heliguy takes off even if that guy misses the door closing and jumps on the nose to stop the airplane. He looks ticked because his view out the windscreen is blocked on climb out.

If it was the least bit dangerous to use your phone on the plane, they would take them all off passengers before they got on board.

It's a bit like not using your phone at a gas station. It was a case of if in doubt, don't allow it originally. There's since been no evidence of any danger whatsoever, but you'll still get the staff freaking out if they see you using a phone at the pump. It's nonsense, but that's how it rolls!

Absolutely not. Way back in the old analog phone days, there was a SLIGHT change of a TINY bit of interference if using an analog phone near some of the oldest navigational radios, but it's not the slightest concern now.
