Just found this while searching for something else, so here's a bump for the new people like myself.
Sr Network Engineer for an internet service provider. About to take my Boxster on a road trip to San Jose for a conference for the industry, got plenty of twisty scenic routes planned along the way! |
Recently retired, and wondering how on earth I found time to work. Was a manager at a chemical / consumers goods plant.

You guys all sound way more interesting than me. :) I'm just a retired Navy (20 years) computer tech, now working as a programmer/analyst for a busy hospital system. Been working in IT-related employment since 1972.
-Dave Side note: I see a lot of replies in this thread are from folks in computer-related jobs. I wonder if that's the reason we own Boxsters? :) |
Lineman for the state of Kansas......:)

James Bond for IT Networks - that's pretty much dead on actually

What is your job?
Me? It's a Boxster! In Porsche terms, it's an inexpensive vehicle. I own/operate a small local computer sales/service business. My daily driver cost a ton more than the Boxster.
2001 Boxster S, 3.2L 6speed manual, CDR220 head, 18" alloy wheels, full leather, etc. Cost, $8,000 new cost, $54,000 dollars. Worth? My daily driver, cost, $34,000. Value, $7,000. |
Could be. Seems nerds love classic sports cars too:) Although, have to say, I wanted a Porsche since the early 1970's. Could not afford one, today I can.

My position is 50/50 IT and accounting, for Toyota Financial Services. No, my other car isn't a Prius... yet.

I've been running Mac/Apple systems for the last 20+ years at a large university. I've got about 800 Mac user systems I direct management of in an very diverse environment. Users are doing things from simple Word files, language research, video and game design, and 3d rendering and printing. Then you have to keep them from turning their systems into spam cannons or exploit bases. I probably should have been an enginenerd cause I spend way too much time building stuff and modyfying cars. But that's fun work not work.

Since the "What's the story behind your forum name?" thread got bumped, I figure it's time to bring this one to the top again.
For me, things are pretty much the same as in post #175. |
I'm a business development manager.
My job description says that I solve problems you don't know you have, in ways you wouldn't understand. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk |
I am my dogs master. Wait, other way around.
