I drove the Box to work today. It amazes me how pickup and SUV drivers can see right over me and tailgate at any speed to bully me or goad me to speed up and get into a contest of who can drive the fastest.

Pulling over usually does the trick. I'm 52 years old now, and I have nothing to prove to anyone except myself.

BTW, I also have a BMW 550i which is my DD. In the last six months of sitting in Houston traffic, I have become "that BMW driver" who uses all that HP to scream up the right side exit lane and dart into an open space instead of poking along while everyone else does it. The power of that car is absolutely astounding. My next Porsche must have a sub 5 second 0-60 time. I'm spoiled.

I toot along around the speed limit in the right lane and ignore these over amped types and pretend I'm the well-adjusted, well- educated and relatively rich person they imagine me to be unless they tailgate me for a while and a curve presents itself whereupon I'll instruct them on racing line, Boxster agility and grip levels and g-force levels they've never experienced before. They never tailgate me after that. Schools out!

On my daily drive to the office, I have a nice set of curves. I usually try to get ahead of the traffic just so I can enjoy them. Twice, I've had someone follow me through the curves at speed. And twice, they've wound up in the oncoming lane since they couldn't hold the curve. One - a truck I'd passed - actually almost wound up on the oncoming dirt berm as he skidded across the curve.

On the highway, I can't say I've run in to much yet. Hopefully I Can keep it that way. Since my wife just started working down the street from me we've been taking her car to work. I miss my Boxster!

The world is full of guys named Needles in pickup trucks. Better to be Marty McFly at the end of BTTF III than at the beginning of BTTF II. ;)

I often encounter them... jealousy is a terrible thing :(

What happens to me constantly is that at a red light, the moment the light turns green, the idiot in back of me lays on the horn. Not a nice toot, but a full on blare. Its especially more prevalent when I have then top down.

I guess what they are thinking is "Hey you have a Porsche, you should be driving fast."

They get an arms in the air "WTF" gesture and if they really obnoxious, the finger.

I'd sit there through the light and then pull away when the light turns yellow, flipping them the bird as I drive off and leaving them to sit through another red light.

Let's face it...the worst offenders are the cell phone users while driving. You need all the concentration the brain has to drive a auto. Most weigh in over 2000 lbs., now how would like to get run over from a driver while they are talking on the phone. It makes me even more crazy mad if they ran into my Porsche while on the phone. Yes, I own and use a cell phone, my first encounter was two Campbell cans connected with string. Reception was so bad we had to holler into the openings so the other could hear. Common sense needs to be used and road respect.

Remember, it's not a privilege or right to be a licensed driver...it's earned.

Done that... except for the middle finger salute. It works great! Let them stew through another red.
Drives 'em wild.
