So I finally got the IMS solution

Yup, finally got it done.

After going into panic mode every time the car starts to drip oil...whether it was a bad RMS seal or an AOS...I took a look at my options and decided if my 2001 S tip was eligible for an IMS solution I'm gonna shoot for it.

Plus the mileage this year was 66XXX and I felt like being superstitious all of a sudden.

Also an unforeseen factor was that my dealership took the liberty to pull my car's records (I am the 3rd owner) and informed me that the car already had an IMS failure under first ownership and had an engine replacement done under warranty. So I was gambling on it being a single row and not a later revised version.

Currently I am doing rotations in Long Island so I went with what's closest from here and am glad I drove down to Chatham, New Jersey to Jay's the Popular Mechanic's shop for the job!

It was well worth the wait and the commute by LIRR and NJ transit to and fro.
1.) Jay took the time to pick me up at 8pm on a Friday night and drove me to his shop to pick up the car.
2.) He then spent time going over the details of what was done (which is a lot: from replacing rusty bolts, to oil change to fixing a loose clamp causing a fluctuating RPM at idle) and to answering my questions on whether it was safe not to take the car off the lot.
3.) Jay test drove the vehicle for a good couple hours after the installation.

I highly recommend Jay and his shop if anyone else if thinking of doing the solution in the near future on the east coast.

Excellent. Jay earned the opportunity to be invited into the IMS Solution Certified Installer program.

Very glad to see that you looked to a Certified Installer to have our IMS Solution installed!

Do you mind sharing how many hours you were billed and cost of parts?

Is the final solution using oil? I've never seen that connection and have only seen photos of the non-final solution LMS upgrade

That's the one I got too. There is a website you can read all about it and see pics. theimssolution.com.

Choose aN IMS Solution Certified Installer. These people have done the jobs and know the hours the job takes and they are very proficient. They have also attended formal training and have been evaluated by Charles and I.

We urge our Certified Installers to work from flat fees for the install. Here we charge 3,500.00 for the IMS Solution Clinic for the Stage 1 package which includes a clutch kit and even a dyno session.

But no one can do it like the people that developed it :-)

Wow, I didn't realize yall guys are forcibly asking businesses to set their service contract in a certain way. Some might say, it's price fixing.

That means even the certified tech aren't quite qualified. That's quite an insult if it's true. Porsche engine is not a rocket, so don't think that it's a special engine.

Nothing forcible and the prices are not set in stone or even mentioned.. They can't be.

We simply encourage that the installers make the IMS Solution installation a package deal all inclusive. This keeps hidden costs and variables to a minimum.

We have no control over the sales or suggested prices, we are only concerned with installers carrying out the job correctly and properly qualifying engines to fit the technology to.

Ask any of our Certified Installers for a price and I guarantee that you'll get 6 different answers and 5-6 different ways that they bundle it sell the technology individually.
