IMS Absolution!

For our 10th anniversary I gave my baby IMS absolution. I got the Solution by Jake and co. Also a new coolant pump, RMS, clutch.... I could have bought a Miata for what I spent. But I'm going to keep her forever so it's worth it.

When my wife and I reach 10 years I'm going to get her fixed too!

better save up.

You got the final solution? How much can I expect to spend on just that? I want to do it once and get it over with. I worry about it everyday since reading about it.

Do I need to bring the car all the way to Georgia or wherever Mr Raby is? I have 1 installer in my state that I am aware of for the upgrade LMS (not final) version. I thought about doing the Appalachian Trail if I ever had to drop my car off for a Raby build and have a fun trip home after a crazy thru hike.

The Appalachian Trail starts 8 miles from my shop :-)

I would save up about 4k. The kit alone is $1780 I believe. I live in Los Angeles where taxes are like 10%, so maybe a little less where you are.

10%?
6.5ish down the street (outside city limits) and 8.25% in the city. Lucky my gun dealer lives outside the city. ;)

Yep, We are having to trademark the name "IMS Solution"

All our developments are more expensive to buy because we are having to patent and trademark EVERYTHING to keep it from being knocked off.

For what it's worth... my original IMS was in perfect condition. There was no play or wear or visible corrosion.

I've done only 22k miles in 10 years. I do drive her hard every two or three weeks for at least 30 minutes which seems to help. Still I'm glad I had The Solution done.

You can't judge a bearing by it's cover.. To judge the wear one must cut the bearing open and measure the races and balls, etc.

Who did you have do the work? Callas or Dutch Treats? I heard Callas had a special $1,995 for IMS replacement using LM engineering bearing.

fusionist 10-30-2013 12:39 PM

I had it done at Callas. I don't think they do the LNE upgrade bearing anymore at Callas, just the Solution.
