sway bar bushings and drop links

Since my C4 has now 72K miles, I figured it was time to change the sway bar bushings and drop links and maybe crisp up the ride and cornering. When I took them off, I couldn't see or feel any noticeable wear or looseness. Went ahead and put on new ones anyway and really could not tell any difference. I was expecting much more wear with that many miles.

I have had the same experience and because of it, my personal opinion is only change drop links if the clunk clunk is bothering me. Once the sway bar is in use (the car is leaning), the bushing is squeezed and the sway bar is doing its job even if the drop link bushings have become old.
