What part is this and what does it do? Under the clamshell

My car has one on the driver side but not the passenger side. Does it channel water, or protect anything under there?

I have looked at several pictures of boxsters in the service position, and some have it and some don't.

Is it part 34 from this diagram?

Driving Mechanism Convertible Top Convertible Top Compartm. Lid

If this is an important piece I will try to get another but if it is not then I will probably try and save my (limited) money

Thanks

Steve

Garage
It's there to keep the top or anything else away from the folding hinge mechanism which should be a little greasy too. There should be 1 on both sides & it's probably cheap at the dealer.
