Need part # please

The rubber scoops (spoilers?) that hang down from the rear cross member and are clearly visible from behind.

Local Porsche dealer cannot find them. I ripped off the one that was still on there but part number worn off. Damn. That and retaining nut.

Thanks. Tim

I believe that they are engine bay / transmission cooling scoops

Nineapart web site has parts parts cat. that should help.

I would imagine renntech/rennlist should part search resources as well

The retaining buttons are 999.507.774.40 & 999.507.775.40
You will need 2 of each of the above.

I don't think that's correct Bryan. The part # is 986.331.361.03, brake spoiler edge for MY 97 - 04

I remember needing one a couple of years ago and fortunately I keep all my receipts, and the receipt had the part # on it. It is not shown on the page you would expect in the catalog. Current price at Pelican is $11.75 each - same part for both sides.

Thank you!!

I've only had one for a while now and I'm sure every Boxster owner who gets behind me sees that...

Well, I ordered and got two "brake spoilers" today. Turns out, they are left & right, and are the soft rubber snap in trim pieces that go under the black trim just in front of the rear tire. Both of mine were missing so I don't mind having them, but there's no pic of the PN you quote. I'll do a google search before I order. The PN Bryan lists does not match anything at Pelian but often it's a new PN.

Interesting. I don't recall needing the trim for in front of the wheel, but I'm getting old and my memory isn't what it was. I'll have another look through my papers because I definitely remember having to buy the part you are looking for. I also checked Bryan's part # at Pelican and came up with nothing.

Please post back once you get it figured out and have the right part. I'll probably be under the car this weekend so I'll see if I get get a number directly from the part.

per Pedro's thread

I recently bought all of these little bits (new mud flaps front and back) for my 986 along with side moldings. Now my car looks brand new with the Sport Classic paint job.

Here you go... Part numbers request
Quote:
1. the plastic/rubber U-shaped guard (underneath the front trunk lever) up front. The rubber "seal" part of this is deteriorated and was crumbling.

TRIM COVER: 996.504.811.00

Quote:
2. the little plastic "screw clips" that hold that guard down (there's 4 of them)

CATCH: 999.590.036.40

Quote:
3. the left and right rubber air guards just in front of the front tires on each side (mine are broken)

RUBBER LIP (L): 996.504.503.00
RUBBER LIP (R): 996.504.504.00

Quote:
4. the rubber air deflector things directly underneath the engine on each side

SPOILER: 986.331.361.02 ('97-'00)
SPOILER: 986.331.361.03 ('01 - )

Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

You are right Mark. I transposed 331 & 336 when I was reading the PET, last night.
My eyes don't work as well as they used to
