Winter Tires For Boxter (1999)

I have talked with Tire Rack and their recommendation is to put on their inexpensive rims $160 ea - Front a 7.5 X 17 and Rear 8.5 X 17 and have Michelin X ice 12s put on - They say 225/45R17 will fit both rim sizes. Does this sound reasonable?

I have found a place that does refurbished rims and have the 7 X 17 fronts for 225ea. Anyone know if these will fit on the rear? Then I could go with 205/50R17 all the way around and keep the stock look
