WITH-WITHOUT Emblem??
Rear lid has been painted cause a little scratch, they had to remove emblem. I dont know if to stick it again or not. I am in doubt. I am a purist and I will suffer without emblem.
What would you do? WITH EMBLEM http://perso.wanadoo.es/valcax/con_emblem.jpg WITHOUT EMBLEM http://perso.wanadoo.es/valcax/sin_emblem.jpg |
Emblem
Unless you can live without a rear license plate and keep THAT emblem...I would replace! I also am a purist and am keeping my '97 stock. Nice car BTW.

I ordered my 987S without the Boxster S logo. Delete Model Designation (code 498- $0 no charge!).
My wife asked me why I would do this. She said people won't know it is an "S". I told her I know it is an "S" and that's all that matters to me! |
I say keep it off for a while and see how you like it(looks, waxing, cleaning, etc...) and to atleast let the paint cure before you put the emblem back on.

A crest in the front and a badge in the rear. Classic Porsche.
This is a Porsche not a import moded Lexus |
I say stay stealthy and let everyone wonder what you're driving. That's what I do. I am emblem free
|
I'm a non-emblem fellow myself. It makes drying and waxing the car easier in that one area. More non-S people have it removed then S folk. I like bmussatti's school of thought.

Since you said that you will suffer without emblem then I think you should have the emblem on :) Either way it looks nice though.
I have mine on because I'd like to keep it original if I can. I agree with tgtran, I'd say drive it for a while without emblem and if you can't get used to it, put the emblem up :) |

You can order the car from the factory with or without the emblem. So, either way, I still think it is "original". True, guys (and gals)?? |
finger prints
I personally prefer no emblem. But once i got the car and realize i have to push on the trunk lid to close the trunk because of its hydraulic support, I left the badge on because that's where i push, to prevent fingerprints on the lid.
