You want a kill list? Ok..here are a few memorable ones. Numerous bolt on mustang Gt's and fox-bods. A 98 mustang Cobra. A couple LT1 fbods. 285 hp Stage II WRX(from a roll). 300zx(n/a). 69 camaro. I've gone neck and neck with a 325hp 2002 WS6 vert. Toe to toe with a 93 Rx7 Twin turbo. And I've only lost to a 99 mustang Gt on the bottle and a crotch rocket. Not to shabby for a boxster.....

S2000 - (rolling start) he had it early and then 3rd gear (my favorite) put me ahead. That one suprised me.
97-99? Boxster - (highway+ speeds) was able to stay ahead and gain distance the whole time... I assume a 2.5. Lots of fun though!
And a couple of 5 Series here and there - those guys love to party! I can't pass those guys on the highway without them trying to get in on the fun. That's why I think when I grow up and have a family, I'll get a 5 Series.

I haven't raced an S2000 yet. I can't wait until I do though so I can add it to the list.

I love to race...never grew up! If I'm going to race from zero I like my 29 ford roadster with a small block chevy....if I'm going to race from 100mph I like my Boxster!

None are us are happy unless we're going full throttle with our hair on fire.
Adam, you must be getting some great launches. You got the technique.
It is funny how often you look up in the mirror on the highway and see a tuner car on your bumper or else jammin to get by you. BMW's too.

um
My (just bolt on,N/A) modded mustang GT handed two 3.2 s their ass on a platter. I tested with different S owners whom I know and who decided to drag race me in my GT fairly from the line, not one of those highway or stoplight cock fights.
Ive also raced my ex-gf who was driving my GT while I was in my 2.7 boxster and she was a car length ahead of me by 45.
Thats my experience.
Boxsters just don't have the torque and straight line balls... but in my opinion they don't have to. I like my boxster more than any car Ive ever owned.

And apparently you like your Boxster more than your old girlfriend! Does this have anything to do with the fact that she beat you?

Hate to sound like the old man of the group but please keep your racing off the public streets. In addition to being a Boxster enthusiast I am also a cyclist and have had not less than 1000 near death experiences from motorsits who were travelling too fast to see me. As a sports car owner paying far too much for insurance (despite a spotless driving record) I urge everyone to stop racing their sports cars on the street, an activity that contributes to higher premiums for this category of car.
1/4 mile racing is fun(not really high performance driving in my book) but should be contained to racing venues where this is monitored with fire and rescue on standby. Overall its a very irresponsible activity that they don't tolerate even on the Autobahn (where the police pull you over for driving too slow).

It was this car right here....down to a T.

Maybe I out drove him, but we did a 30-80 roll and I had about 1/2 a car on him right before shutdown time, so it was a very close race. Maybe he could take me on a higher speed roll...maybe not... with any luck I will bump into him again and go for round 2. I don't really see what all the fuss is about though because that car is very heavy compared to my boxster S so actually the power to weight ratio is very similar for the two cars. The power to weight ratio for both of these cars is 11-11.5lbs per pony. Down low in the speed range(say <100mph) where most racing occurs it's the power to weight that really matters. That's why a 190hp Lotus can smoke cars with twice the power out of the hole, but by 100mph or so the little lotus will get passed. Up Higher in the speed range his extra power and TQ would be an advantage and I would probably lose because then wind resistence is a major factor. Simple physics really. It was a close race...but the outcome not all that suprising to me.

Raced an Audi A4 and I kept up but didn't overtake him. He had an automatic and was alone and I hadn't replaced my tranny yet (cautious) and I had a another big fat guy in the car with me, which made three people in the car if you combined our weights.

yayyy...... my floormats finally came in.........
so here I am breaking in my motor, enjoying the ride
every other light I have someone launching hard on me
It is the funniest thing. OK, the Yuppy Beemers and Kid Tuners, I expect. And the musclecars. But a kid in an old Taurus? When I roll up next to these cars on my Harley they all get busy fiddling with their stereos.

been following the show "Pinks"
Haven't seen any Porsches challenging yet. lol
The fastest cars have all been high torque V8's. Noticeable difference in the experience of the drivers as can be seen when an owner brings a pro driver as his "ringer". They launch quick and also have great roll on acceleration.
