2007 Boxster 6 speed mods

First off forgive my nick name for the forum as I am terrible at coming up with witty titles or names. So I decided to use my wifes nickname of my boxster:-).
So back to topic, I just bought the boxster about 3 weeks ago and we have had a blast driving in the hill country in Austin TX. Took it for a 450 mile one day drive thru the "Three Sisters" and could not beleive how easy the car was to drive. The PASM is great and makes my bad driving skills look good.

Question, what mods can I do that do not cost 2-3k? By the way great forum.

25,500 miles
6 speed
18 inch rims
PASM
Bose System

Are those your wives? :) Nice chicks, all three of them. (Save the money in your savings account, for when something blows..)

Welcome fellow Austinite!

For a cheap thrill, an ebay-style exhaust is worth it for the grins. I have a 986, but if you want to hear the Topspeed Pro 1 model in person, let me know. It's pretty much the only "cheap" exhaust for the car. Some droning is there, but it's an easily reversible mod. If you need a good and affordable independent mechanic to install some of the mods, also let me know.

MoneyPit,

I would not make any modifications to your Boxster. I think your car is spot on.

I have a 1999 Boxster and the sole modification I've made is to replace the boat anchor of a muffler with an Ebay special. I did replace the 17inch turbo twist OEM wheels with a later model of 17inch OEM wheels. This morning I kicked it down a gear or two in order to pass a van. I pushed it up to over 5500 rpm. In a month shy of four years of ownership I had never gone over 5000 rpm. The sound was music to my ears.

Oh by the way, what is this "Three Sisters" route in the Hill Country?

What route, FM, highway, etc.?

4-5k is where your mouth drops. That sound is exhilarating and addictive. Porshes are high reving cars and it helps your bearings. Drive it like you stole it. +1 on the exhaust mod.

Should have purchased a Carrera. Then all 3 wives could squeeze into the car with you.

Congratulations!
The first mod I would make would be to lose the M-B front plate! Then you can remove the mount and fill the holes with a pair of Bumper Plugs. (Since your paint is a dark color, you can use black plastic panel rivets temporarily. Get the ones with the glossy head, rather than the pebbled finish.)

MB plate is gone already, but I live in Texas and we must have front plates.

Actually, front plates are required but there is no penalty for not having one in TX. You can be pulled over, but there is nothing they can do. I have not had any problems with not having one, I say lose it:D Beautiful ride! Go to Boxtoberfest in Fredericksburg two weekends from now. I can't go this year but it is a blast! Like others have said, the exhaust, short shift, and definitely the clear side markers!
