Thumbs up Ipod mini with Boxster 03

I am using Ipod Mini with Itrip in my 2003 Boxster. I mounted on Rearview mirror using magnetic cellphone holder. I think the FM antenna is located in front windshield. I live near Los Angeles area and I have not had any major problem and it easy to view the screen and control the Ipod mini.

DLO Transpod

I'm actually using the DLO Transpod in my car. It's not the perfect setup but it is what it is. Haven't had any reception issues - I use 87.9 frequency.

One question to anyone out there using these cigarette lighter adapters: Does the car continuously supply power to the cigarette lighter even after I have pulled out the key and locked the door?

I'm just wondering if it's okay to leave my adapter plugged in overnight or even for a week at a time if I don't drive the car - just in case it drains the battery and I can't start it.

Thanks.

im pretty sure that the power goes out when you pull the key, my phone doesn't charge in the car unless the key is in.

On my 97, the power stays on even after the key's been removed. I have to manually turn of my V1 every time I leave the car if it's still plugged into the cigarette lighter.

2001 Boxster

Sorry but I forgot to add that it's a 2001 Boxster.

I know for sure that my transpod continues to have power even after I've pulled out the key but I know that the car kind of "powers down." after about a minute after I've locked the doors.

Can anyone help confirm something for this model year? If not, I guess I'll have to do more experiments.

Not that this helps, but in my '05, the power does not go out when I pull the key. I have to manually turn off power to the Escort and the Garmin when I leave the garage at night.

The lighter is hot all the time on a US 986. Otherwise Porsche would be selling those battery chargers that plug into the lighter for nothing.

On a UK car however all bets are off.

Thanks

Guess I'll have to remember to pull my adapter out each night. It's quite a hassle, though. *sigh*
