Bought a battery.... Porsche tax evaded.
went to pickup my car from the dealer after the variocam solenoid was replaced. told me battery was completely fried and it was $370 to replace. Had them boost me and drove to advance auto here in NY. Replaced with their top line battery (~800 CCA) for 179.
I lined the two up together (porsche OEM and the advance) before reinstalling and they are IDENTICAL batteries. Even the plastic molded case that the cells sit in are the same. Just FYI.... |
Looks like they were going to charge you a couple hours for install (taking the difference), which is also a rip. Nice job!

that part was 5min of standing in a frunk...

It's not a secret dealers are very expensive on parts. I never buy parts from dealers.

Yeah, my friend works for Interstate Batteries, they just slap different stickers on the same battery, depending on which dealer they are going to, Porsche, Audi, etc.

Interstate Here
Battery selection can start something here almost as big as oil and/or tire selection. As for me, I have an Interstate, and always will.

Costco is waaaaay cheaper than napa, kragens, etc.
My replacement has been in there for 6 years now. |
