2009 Boxster S Bra advice

I am looking to make a 1300 mile trip and have been unable to find a moderately priced bra. I do not like the look of the clear bras and just want something that I can put on for the trip and take off once I arrive.

Is anyone aware of a solution for the 2009 S model?

Thanks

Use masking tape for the drive.

Here are a few tips:

1) Don't tailgate people.
2) Stay away from trucks, give them a good gap
3) Stay away from gravel trucks
4) Stay away from trucks without a tarp over their load
5) Stay away from construction trucks and cement trucks
6) Stay away from trucks and pickups without mud flaps.
7) Be aware when a vehicle in front of you puts a tire on the white line. It can usually kick up dirt and rocks.

You'll be fine!:)

Bra advice

If you are going to be driving on interstates, get a bra. No matter how careful you are you are going to get peppered with sand, bugs and other road debris. I always use a bra on interstates and have a clean front because of it. Don't use it on back roads. Maybe someone on this forum has one to sell. Put a WTB note out there and see if anyone responds.

If you do insist on using a bra, make sure you clean/wax the area where the bra touches your car before putting the bra on. Also use painter's tape to cover the areas where the bra will potentially flap or rub.

Bras help with preventing chips, but they can also scratch your paint if not used correctly.

For a 1 off trip, I would just use a couple rolls of blue painter's tape and tape off the front end. It might look ghetto, but it's just 1 trip and a cheap, non-permanent solution.

Bra

A Colgan bra for your specific model is easy on-off, has a soft inner lining, is tight around all the edges and does not need tape.

Thanks everyone for the advise, it is also useful and appreciated.

Not sure I can drive around with blue tape on the front of my car but I do like the idea of the Colgan Bras. Unfortunately, according to their website, they do not make one for the '09 Boxster (they stop at the '07 model).

Is there any other manufacturer that someone is aware of? Autoanything was a bust, along with Griots and any other auto website that I have used in the past.

I will also look to see if someone is selling on this website.

Never thought this would be so difficult...and thanks again for all the feedback!

Need temporary protection? I would suggest Plasti-Dip spray can... https://www.dipyourcar.com/home.php?cat=19 or 3M Paint Defender... Amazon.com: 3M 90000 Paint Defender Spray Film: Automotive

Update

Found a 3M spray on product that looks like an ideal solution. Might also be good for you folks that track your car. If anyone has experience with this product (link listed below), would love to hear your experience or any tips on application.

Thanks again for all your feedback.

Thanks, this is exactly what I am looking for...

You sure about Colgan? It just went through the motions and appear to be able to get one for a 2013 boxster (unless this is an knock-off). Looks like a nice option for long trips.

You could buy "racers tape" in a color that suites your car better. Just a thought.

I agree with the 3m can spray stuff. Simple, clear, cheap and comes right off when done...

Quick update

Pulled the trigger on the 3M product. Arrives midweek (Amazon had some good coupons, so better than autozone). Hoping to apply over the weekend and will try to update y'all on how it comes out as I have read mixed results on the vertical surfaces.

With regard to Colgan, they do have one for the 2013 Boxster but not one for the '09.

Thanks again everyone.
