Updated Convertible Top/Frame Shipping & Dimensions

Has anyone had experience shipping a convertible top w/ frame? I am trying to figure out the logistics of doing this and have a few questions:

1) is the frame Aluminum? What is the total weight?
2) what are the dimensions, when folded?
3) is a crate necessary or will a box with stuffing suffice?

Thanks

Box with stuffing is fine. Not sure of dimensions off hand but measure your top when down and you'll be close. Estimate weight at 50-60 lbs.

Ship greyhound for cheapest rate. A littlie inconvenient but much better than FedEx or ups.

I had a top/frame shipped from LA, CA to northwest FLfor $136.

As far as I know, there are no Greyhound terminals in Hawaii.

And if there are some, I am pretty sure their buses don't travel off the island! :D

Thanks for the weight. They were trying to tell me 250 lbs!

My bad!!

But keep Greyhound in mind for CONUS shipments....it really is cheaper and timewise was about the same.

Chard, if you pay my way over I'm happy to check it as luggage and help you install it!

Been to the islands 5 times, and anxious to make a sixth trip over!!!!!

Ha! Thanks for the offer, hehe. I'm not sure if that would really be cost efficient, hehe.

I'd really love to find a blue top with glass rear window though.
