Soft Top Protection

I recently purchased a 99 Boxster fitted with a new soft top, how can I protect this from the sun? any products out there to preserve the fabric? also, what hardtops are available for Boxsters?

Hi,

The Best product out there is called RaggTopp - www.raggtopp.com

It is a two-part system containing a Top Cleanser and a Spray-on (ScotchGard Like) UV/Waterproofing protector. Used it for years - works Great! Hope this helps...

I'm a big proponent of using a soft top cover if the car is going to be parked for more than two hours. You can get them on ebay for $60.
After only a month this summer the cover began to show signs of sun fading.
Easier to replace a $60 cover than a $1000 new top.
Keeps the toxic bird droppings of th top too.
The cover also protects the interior from fading.

Hi,

Absolutely - it has UV Protectors and you want to begin this as soon as possible, especially today when Ozone Depletion has increased the amount of UV so dramatically. I am 52 years old. Today, the Earth receives the same amount of UV in 6 minutes that used to take an hour when I was a Kid...

I bought this cover on ebay and it's worth every penny.

He doesn't have a Boxster cover listed right now but email him, I'm sure he has them in stock or can make one pretty quick.

Hi,

I have the same cover, but as my Car is garaged, it has never been used. Still, it's very well made and I store it in the Trunk in the event that I am Parked for the Day in the Sun or overnight...
