Aftermarket head unit and Bose speakers?

I have a 2003 Boxster with the Becker CDR-23 head unit and Bose amplifer and speakers. I'm thinking of replacing the head unit with an aftermarket one in order to hardwire my iPod (I hate the FM transmitters), but am not sure if the Bose setup will allow this.

Has anyone done a similar swap, or know what the connection is between the CDR-23 and the Bose amplifier (e.g., RCA, proprietary...)?

MP3 for 03 & later boxsters

Neo Ion is evidently working on this issue for the 03 and later boxsters. Check the website 'mp3yourcar.com' and within the site it says that the adaptation is 'coming soon' for the 03 and later boxsters. I think I will wait rather then screw up the original look of the interior.

Good luck
