First Road Trip in Boxster

This past week I traded my 03 BMW Z4 tiptronic for my new 03 Boxster S 6spd.

I was just getting tired of the Z4 and I couldn't take the constant rattles and the bone jarring ride. I loved my Z4 and the car was extremely reliable. The past 2 years saw only 3 thousand miles and I just didn't enjoy the car anymore.

So, I found a beautiful Boxster S in triple black with 27K miles. What a joy this car is to drive. Not only does it handle brilliantly, but the ride is great and compliant.

We drove the car from Scranton, Pa to Avalon NJ. The drive would normally be about 4 hours, but with the shore traffic, the drive was about 5 hours. I never felt fatigued other than my leg getting a little tired from the clutch. I haven't owned a manual drive car in years.

All in all, the Boxster is just an awesome drive and every morning when the alarm goes off, I can't wait to drive it.

Certainly is rewarding to row through the gears. For some it's from work, for others, to work.

Welcome to the forum! I guess that is what I and most here like so much is the fact that the Boxster is fun and comfortable to drive. It handles beautifully but doesn't beat you to death. Absolutely a fantastic car!

Compared to my 99 Acura CL, the ride is rather harsh, especially over concrete roads with expansion joint collapses and multi-patched asphalt roads. So if you think the ride is great and compliant, the Bimmer ride must be like having no suspension at all!

Welcome to Boxsterdom.
