Window will not stay down

Hello, My 2000 boxster window seems to be on the fritz, it will go down the 1/4 inch when open I the door but it will not stay down once I release my door handle.

My window will sometimes also go up and down sporadicly, when the door is closed, and my alarm will sound when my car is locked and no one is breaking into it, so I have to leave my car unlocked.

I believe my problem may be the door sensor that tells my car is the door is open or not, is that correct? and how can I remedy this in a DIY way.

_ thanks for the help.
