Brake pad choice?

Hi there

I'm very new to the forum thing and am going to ask a question that has more than likely been asked before, so please accept my apologies in advance.

What would be a good choice of brake pad for the front discs of my Boxster 2.7?
I drive it mostly on regular roads but may do the odd track day once in a while, any help from experience is appreciated.

Cheers
Cliffo

Mintex work really well for me. They are the cheapest OEM pad, they have little dust and work fine at the track. With GT3 air ducts, at the track, the brakes stay cool, don't fade, but they do wear quickly. Be sure you have at least half the pad material when you do a track day.

If you can get a good deal on ebc red stuff , they're good road pads with minimal dust .

You should be changing all 4 ,not just the fronts ...

I also think you would be better getting a dedicated pad for your track days as you can then have a good street pad without any of the bad traits that come with track pads , and they can be changed easily in about an hour ....

Brake pad choice?

Thanks guys, I've ordered a set of EBC Red Stuff pads including EBC rotors.

The EBC Redstuff pads may squeal at first - don't despair! Just drive them regularly for 200 miles or so (ignoring any squeal) and then perform the bed-in procedure and they'll never squeal again. Since they are a ceramic pad, there will be a huge reduction in brake dust as compared to the OEM pads. They have great initial bite when new so be careful with stomping on the brake pedal. They will also work great for a few track days (I typically got about 12 track days out of a set of Redstuff pads).
