Cabriolet top transmission help

When the top mechanism failed (broken cable) I opened the transmission to make certain no gears were binding. Fortunately gears are ok. Two questions if anyone can help. What lubricant would be appropriate and are there any cautions about gear alignment on the transmission before reassembly? Thanks for any help or advice.

I had mine apart one time for no really good reason. Given the plastic or nylon gears (can't remember) I used a light coat of white lithium grease.
