You'll never calm down. It doesn't go away - in fact, it gets worse. Before you know it, you'll own two.

+1...
Two years and counting for me too ... still staring like a teenage boy hitting puberty.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one that does that.

Had mine for 3 years now and still living the dream! :D

Just don't get caught looking over your shoulder as you walk from it in a parking lot.

BYprodriver 06-15-2013 03:41 PM

I prop open the door from my hallway to the garage. As I walk down the hall I see it waiting for me & makes me smile. Kinda like a trophy wife but better since it always does exactly what I tell it to do! Especially since all the "enhancements"!

Good excuse to have a beer in the garage!

You know, I was going to say I've gotton over it ... but then a moment of self-reflection kicked in and I said to myself ... I don't peak out windows or open the garage door just to look at it, but I do look at it each time I pass it in the garage or my parking space at work. But what really hit me was your comment as I do plan to buy a 911 in the future. Just not sure what series. Picking a 911 is even tougher than picking an ISMB R&R solution. :D

Porsche Chick 06-15-2013 05:41 PM

It hits me when I walk out of a store and go to the parking lot. I think "Whoa, that's a bad ass car", then "Geez, it's nice that it's mine."

Plus I'm pretty sure that it's coolness rubs off on me and I am cool by association. :D

litespeedp 06-15-2013 05:55 PM

My Boxster is one of my "Look Back" cars! I have had a few cars like this that require the almost 180 degree head spin as you walk away.

Ckrikos 06-15-2013 08:07 PM

I have owned my boxster for 11 years and I still look back at her. I would like to get another am considering a 2003+ 996s or 01+ turbo.

Topless 06-15-2013 08:28 PM

Funny. I had to get my car smogged and while I was waiting I kept looking over and thinking "15 yrs old and still a nice looking ride" even though it had track slime and tire snot all over the nose. I waited quite a while and when the guy got to my car he thanked me for waiting and offered me a free car wash next door. Yay... They even got all the tire snot off! A good day.

deptotpr 06-15-2013 09:00 PM

Guilty as charged too

mcomet 06-15-2013 09:35 PM

I still like seeing it parked in the garage. I clay-bar'd it (my first time ever, wow amazing!) and waxed it today and its so shiny, I kept opening the door to look at it again...lol. Hasn't looked that good since I bought it!

ducati11 06-16-2013 02:49 AM

I own my boxster 96 since a few months, and YES I like the car even more than I thought.I ever could......:):):):):)

My 5th wife still has a difficult time letting go of the Dangermobile.

Every time I go to a restaurant I make sure I sit where I can see my Spyder in the parking lot.

Coffinhunter 06-17-2013 05:13 AM

Just passed the one year anniversary, and still look when walking away, and in the garage from time to time.

What's even worse....I look at the refection of her in the cars I pass on the freeway.

fusionist 06-17-2013 12:55 PM

I find myself not only looking back in parking lots, but going out of my way to walk back towards her at different angles.

Retroman1969 06-18-2013 02:40 AM

6 months so far and I still look over my shoulder as I'm walking away from it, and yes, I do open the garage occasionally just to take it in for a bit.
It's even worse since I've had the front clip stripped and refinished to get rid of all the little rock chips and scrapes...

I swear the Porsches (Boxsters, Caymans, and 911s) built in the last 15 years or so are among the sexiest and classiest looking cars ever put on the road.

Mark_T 06-18-2013 05:24 AM

You get Red Green in the States? I always thought that was just a Canadian thing.

kk2002s 06-18-2013 06:51 AM

8 month in and I do all that.
But wait - I make sure I thank her for a good ride Or apologize for driving her in the snow and rain

mikesz 07-01-2013 04:57 PM

I do all the time, I THINK SHE IS BEAUTIFUL!

Hayden 07-01-2013 07:05 PM

It's half the reason to park far away from everything, so the journey back is long enough for deep contemplation and joy. You also get at least one shameless glance back while you lock the doors. Do this at maximim range, so there is a good chance you get to walk back towards the car. I may be new to Porsches, but not the art of strategic gawking.

Great thread !!!

I just sit on the front porch with my iPad , cigarettes , and corona so I can look at it whenever I look up :)

Picturing how it will look in two weeks ......

yellowboxsters 07-04-2013 09:03 PM

I always keep the door to the garage from the kitchen open so every time I get a drink from the fridge, I get to ogle at my yellow beauty for a few seconds. Sometimes when I really can't help myself, I switch the garage light on and stand there, then caress the paintwork for a few seconds, take a deep breath, smile and then walk away with a grin knowing it belongs to me. :D

Porsche_Padowan 07-04-2013 11:01 PM

What a relief to find out it isn't just me! Huge smile every time I look in the garage. My wife is starting to get a little irked by it. :D

Hayden 07-05-2013 12:39 AM

OK, now that we've cleared this up: Who's gonna confess to talking to their car?

I have and was only just recently for a period of 2 weeks after reading up on the IMS problem til the very morning I drove it to the Porsche specialist for the LN engineering IMSB changeover. Was saying to the dear yellow thing to please hold up and not go Kaboom.
