I got aluminum trim rings from the wife for Christmas. Did you get anything Porsche-related? Tell the list about it!

rbennett 12-27-2005 09:02 AM

The book is named "The ultimate history of Porsche" Barnes and noble, hard back.

Goes alway from Ferdinand Porsche as a boy to 2002.

I got one of those porsche tire pressure gauges and the travel umbrella that fits in the passenger-side pocket on the door sill. :)

bmussatti 12-27-2005 10:30 AM

I got a bunch of Porsche Tequipment stuff:

In-door car cover
Trunk liners- front and back (good for a clean-freak like me!)
Battery Maintainer
Porsche crest valve stem caps
The little red clip
Porsche crest lapel pin
Clear side markers

jangobox 12-27-2005 10:58 AM

I got a porsche polo shirt. Believe it or not, pretty damn nice! Oh and a Xbox 360 with Project Gotham Racing. I already have 3 RUF porsches in my garages, well in the game anyway, it rocks!

The little red clip gives you an instant 17.5 additional HP! And it is Porsche approved, with no CEL.

OK, now that I have your attention! It is just a little device to trick (turn on) the alarm system when the top is down. Supposedly, it provides a little better protection. Do a search on the forum, and you'll see some old threads with info and a photo (probably from Tool Pants!).

BengalsFan 12-27-2005 01:46 PM

I received Porsche crest valve stem caps, a Porsche license plate frame, and a Porsche crest car key ring.

AUDIOGUY 12-27-2005 02:16 PM

I got the silver Porsche valve stem caps with the black logo and a really
nice coffee table Porsche book.

On a side note, I bought a buddy of mine an Evolution car cover for his BMW.
Now, having seen his, I want to buy one for myself!

Happy New Year!

asnigro 12-27-2005 03:05 PM

Porsche book here as well, "Porsche: The Road from Zuffenhausen". Looks pretty cool so far! She inscribed "The "other" love of your life... **heart** Brianna" on the inside cover, how sweet.

ohioboxster 12-27-2005 04:03 PM

I got a gift certificate to my FAVORITE store in the world, Summit Racing. Im going to use it to buy baby moons for my 40 chevy. I always seem to change my mind so we will see.

Those sabers are a lot of fun. I have the Vader (red) and the Anakin saber (blue). Very cool to have another boxster and Star Wars fan on the forum! What a combo!

bmussatti 12-27-2005 04:11 PM

Those light sabers are like $100....my nephew wants one for his birthday!

Perfectlap 12-27-2005 04:47 PM

a bill for $500 from my Auto finance company.

(well they did give me 'no payment due this month' pass, such nice guys).

Watch out for that, I'm sure they're also giving you the added gift of interest on that month you can skip!

I got a Boxster 550 shirt (though I don't have a 550 -but I like it anyway Dad), a Porsche Logo mousepad, and mug with a pewter crest on it.

And though it's technically not a Porsche gift, it will become one... EBAY MONEY!!!

blinkwatt 12-27-2005 06:00 PM

I wanted the the Bentley Boxster Manual, but I asked too late. Oh well looks like I will have to order it for myself. :)

Nothing Porsche related, but I did enjoy a few "pre-embargo" cuban cigars. Note to forum users, you can get quality for much less than my wife paid without a fancy box and label). Autographed baseball and a couple o games for the xbox360. As for the saber-fans, I have th blue fx but am trying to convince my wife that the collection isn't complete without the double-bladded Parks saber -- star wars fans (with a little cash) -- check out his stuff at the Parksabers.com

olly986 12-28-2005 02:59 PM

as mentioned somewhere else on the forum got a karcher for easy porsche cleaning and a hammer drill, a little diy minded but not yet on the boxster.

Do I know you guys from somewhere? Any of you part of the 501st or the RPF?

cfos 12-29-2005 11:48 AM

I can only speak for me, but I don't think you know me. I know of the 501 and/or RPF, but am not part of either.

jameskk 12-29-2005 05:19 PM

wife surprised me with a xbox 360!! and a Bose soundock for the iPod

Dr. Kill 12-30-2005 09:56 AM

Well, sort of Porsche related - my wife got me a set of cufflinks with a 5 speed shift pattern on them - pretty cool

Also, not Porsche related - Santa brought me a new set of all-clad cookware :)

jpcolin 01-01-2006 10:26 PM

Hi,

Mrs. MNBoxster and I were Married in Montreal, Canada 6 years ago. As you may know, Canada does not have a Trade Embargo with Cuba, and so Cuban Cigars are very much legal. During our 2 week Honeymoon there, and in Quebec City, I availed myself of numerous Fine Examples, usually accompanied by a snifter of excellent Cognac.

Weak-willed as I am, I could not resist buying up a couple dozen Cuban Cohibas to bring back to the States with me. I taped them to my Body and when we entered the Customs area at the Detroit Airport, I cautioned my Wife to linger on the JetWay so we could get in line behind a somewhat Grungy looking Hippie Type who was on our flight.

Here I am looking all like a wannabe Michelin Man with these Cohibas taped all over me, but the Customs Guard never gave us a second Glance, waved us straight through, all the while eyeing the Hippie in line before us.

I just finished the last of these on New Year's Eve along with some of the 90 year-old Baron Rothchild Private Reserve Cognac my Wife gave me for Xmas, and so felt compelled to share my tale with you all.

I am planning a surprise 2nd Honeymoon for Mrs. MNBoxster and I to attend the F1 Race in Montreal this year. Given the heightened Security at the Border since 911, I suspect I'll have to enjoy my Cohibas exclusively in Country this go around... ;)

Happy Motoring... Jim'99

aglsteven 01-02-2006 03:12 AM

I got an ipod so that I can hook it up to the MP3 plug I installed on my new radio (disconnected the CD stacker). Now I can listen to all of my music as I cruise the streets of Melbourne!!!!

threpwood 01-02-2006 03:48 AM

I got the silver sport back cover and aluminum gas cap for the boxster. Haven't had time to install it yet...

I got a Porsche coffee cup two years ago before I took possession of my car. The wife said, "You can't drive fast yet, but you can certainly drink your coffee as fast as you like now, and do it in style." :D

BTW, hand wash that cup... the gold will wear off quickly in the dishwasher. Despite what your wife might think, it should be cared for like her fine china.

Rail26 01-02-2006 08:28 AM

My wife gave me a new IPOD for Christmas! Although it sounds like crap over the FM transmitter someday Porsche might get off its ass quicker and come out with the adapter for the 987.

The 'POD (as my wife calls it) is really neat...you can download movies and tons of music. I travel quite a bit so I can listen to the 'POD instead of the screaming kids on the airplane.

I was hoping Santa was going to bring my baby back to me, but she is still on holiday in Phoenix getting her new rear end and exhaust courtesy of a careless driver.

Cheers and Happy New Year!

deliriousga 01-02-2006 09:53 AM

For the Boxster, I gave my wife a GPS unit and I'm installing the FM radio connector to route her around DOT reported traffic and construction problems.

For me, it was all 928 upgrades. New swaybars and adjustable drop links and several gift certificates for 928 Specialists for more upgrades. :D

It's been a very Porsche Christmas!
