Odd Switch fault code
I am running a fault code P1137 (446) Clutch Switch - Signal Implausible.
Possible fault cause: - Fuse faulty (Fuse B7) - Clutch switch - Short circuit to B+ - Open circuit I replaced the red cruise control switch, but the problem still came up.(fig. 1) My understanding is there are two clutch switches, one of them being clutch interlock switch that is pressed to start the car. (not pictured) Is it possible that is the switch is what is causing the fault? I do not press the clutch down to the floor to activate the switch when I shift as the clutch grabs a lot higher. For me it does not seem like the interlock switch should be causing this problem. The fault code is driving me nuts. I have found the fault code gives me a lag between shifting especially in 2nd gear. Is there any other problem that might be causing this, and has anyone else experienced this problem and got the remedy? Have searched the daylights out of this problem and it is rare. |
You are correct that there are two clutch switches. It is very possible the other switch is causing the fault. Did you check fuse B7? Try replacing the other switch.

Clutch switches are a simple on/off device and are easily checked with a volt ohm meter.
