Headlight Cleaning Today

Had the afternoon off work so I decided to try to buff out the cloudy headlights. Used Mother's Powerball kit. "Before" on the left and "after" on the right. Took about an hour and worked pretty well!

Wish they were made of glass and wish manufacturers would stop using plastic!

Mine have not started messing up yet.Do you think keeping a coat of non abrasive carnauba car wax on them would help prevent this?

They still look a bit yellow but it's a huge improvement.

Putting on wax would help but once it's yellow like that it's hard to bring it back unless you remove enough material with a buffer.

Yes, you are absolutely correct - they look better but no where near looking new. All in all, I guess I got my $25 worth.

About anything will work to get the yellow layer off, I used Turtle (I usually stay away from Turtle!). As long there is a good final polishing step you're fine. The pitting is a much more difficult problem. These seem to be rather deep microcracks. You would have to remove quite a lot of material to get rid of those.
