2002 986 transmission fluid change now smell....

2002 986 non S with 5 speed. changed the transmission fluid and now after I drive there is this smell that emits from the car. It's not transmission fluid and it's not a burning smell. Just kind of a chemical smell. Any ideas? Thinking it's perhaps just some fluid that I may have gotten on the transaxle that is off gassing?

No idea. Wish i could post smells...I'm sure that's around the corner.

It may not be related to that task but instead, something new. How about windshield washer?

hi John , what about the catalytic converters!!! they do tend to smell more or less like you explain :)))

try sniffing around the rear and sides . i.e. just below rear bumper corners or so .
Dont take my word for it ok . just a suggestion :))))

Check your exhaust for "overspray" from your project. You may gotten a drip of tranny fluid on them. The high sulfur content of that stuff can make you want to puke. :barf:

Rotten eggs are generally associated with Cat smells.

If you could post that smell….
