Let's see your patches and temporary fixes...

It's both funny and amazing to see all the things we do when we need a patch or temporary fix.

The photo below is not one of my most proud moments, but the duct tape patch on my rear window held up just fine for two weeks, until I could get the top replaced with one with a glass window.

Had to patch due to an 8" crack in the plastic window.
I did a neat job by making sure the inside and outside layer of the tape matched up really well.

Let's see your most proud, or not moments.

I would have used clear nail polish........however whatever works in a pinch.

No photographs (yet).
Two patches that keep me disgusted with myself, but no time for a proper fix (yet).

Two strips of vinyl glued to the inside right and left side of the vinyl window. The window was sewn in in a particular bad way (previous owner) and ripped at the sides. Doesn't look too pretty, but hey, I got the top down most of the time!

My favorite. There is spring broken in the driver door mechanism which tensions the whole door locking system. The main effect is that the inner door handle is pretty 'loose' and since the microswitch that signals 'door open/close' is there too, the windows will move down 3 inches and the interior lights will come on whenever you hit a bump. Also, whenever you throw the door shut the inner door handle swings open, etc. etc.
Lazy bum me don't want to take the door panel off. Fix is a little fold up piece of paper wedged in behind the inside door handle. Once in while it drops out and I have to fold another one.
