Who is the best company for oil analysis?

Well, I changed the oil for the first time in my newly acquired 1998 Boxster (27k miles). I'm considering sending the oil off for analysis. Who do you recommend? What is the best method for sending your oil. I've owned many "sports" cars over the years but I've never felt the need to send off the oil for analysis so this is new to me.

Blackstone Labs

They send you the necessary packaging to send them an oil sample. Analysis isn't overly expensive, and a lot of people seem to be satisfied with the service they receive.

I use Blackstone. I buy in bulk of 6 tests. Runs about $21 per test this way. I also do UOA's on my transmission/gear lube.

I would not suggest sending them a sample from your most recent drain, because it is probably contaminated from whatever you drained it into, unless you took this into account, prior. Maybe your next oil change.

Lastly, one test won't tell you much. So, if you start doing them, continue doing them to see the data and direction your engine and oil choices are taken.
