And yet another lost Boxster radio code.........

I am a 'newbee' to this forum so please be gentle!!!!

I have read the above posts but don't see an answer to my specific problem.
My radio is a CR220, Becker 1, 4362, s.n. W5002947. I also have the remote CD changer.
Like everyone else, after changing batteries, I lost the radio code. I got the 4 **** and foolishly tried to enter a code which was incorrect. The wait message had now been displayed for HOURS, not allowing another code to be entered.

I would love to have the Correct code for my radio. Also, if anyone know a trick to resetting the message on the radio face, I would appreciate it. I tried to remove the battery cable again, but that did not luck. :(

My Boxster is a 2000. Thanks for the help!

Try 4607 first and if that doesn't work use 4605... one of those two codes should work.

Make sure your battery is charged and leave the radio on for as long as 24hrs. If you've entered the wrong code more then once the time might get longer on some units.
But either way the unit has to be 'ON' in order to get past the timer....

CDR 220
• Turn off unit
• Push and hold the TP button for at least 8 seconds.
•Turn the unit on.... 'Becker 1' will show on display
• Rotate the right selector knob to display serial number

CR 210
• Press tone, then press 8 and 0 simultaneously 'Becker' appears
• Press station up arrow on right 'PR-VERS' appears
• Press one of the number buttons below display, directly below the LCD arrowheads
• The model number will appear
• Press station up arrow on right until, 'SERIAL N' appears
• Press the numbered button again
• The serial number will appear

cr 220

Hi,
My CR 220 serial# X5020441 needs code
Thank you
Pat

Chboro 07-24-2016 10:03 AM

Also need code.

As someone else posted I prefer listening to the vehicle over the radio. Just to show how often I actually turn it on, it was 3 months ago the battery died and I had to replace it. I recently took a 2 hour trip and decided to try out the radio and CD player and that's when I realized I needed a code. Prior to the battery going dead it did work because I put some CD's in the remote changer and tried it out. Anyhow, I have the CDR-220 and I just tried what someone suggested to obtain the serial number and that didn't work at all. Unit powers up with PORSCHE displayed, then asks for code. I have the radio manual and obviously the code card is missing. It is a 2001 Boxster S. Any suggestions short of going to the dealer would be appreciated.

Chboro 07-24-2016 10:25 AM

Just got my serial number

I have a CDR-220. Turn the unit on, press and hold TP for 8-10 seconds then you'll hear a beep and it'll display Becker 1, turn right dial to obtain serial number.

My serial number is - Y5051542, model 4462. Anyone help with a radio code?

Try 1051 first and if that doesn't work try 0051.
