CDR 23 needs a code.

I'll be changing out my battery for the first time this week on my 2004 Boxster 550 anniv S.
It was installed 3/2009 and still puts out 13+ volts at rest!!!
VIN # WPOCB29834U661077
I don't know what to look for on the label in the frunk under the insignia for the radio code. Lots of letters and numbers.
Radio manual indicates it's a CDR 23, with brand name unmentioned.
It's a Bose system.
How do I make sure I'll be able to use the radio post battery change?

Thanks in advance

newcider 06-05-2019 07:02 AM

All's well.
Battery swap only caused loss of clock time.
All other settings remained intact.
The radio works.

Yup the newer ones retain the code via the canbus to the ECM.... it wouldn't work if you pulled it and plugged it into a different car but as long as it stays in the same car it will work without putting in the code :-)

Dude. Search on the forum. Someone here can help with the code if you have the serial.

Tell us it worked
