universal engine stand
 
hi - will a universal engine stand work with a m96 motor, or do I need an adaptor?

Depends upon the stand, some have a problem getting the mounting arms in tight enough to hold an M96/97 case, other are fine. If the arms don't work, you can get a specific adaptor:

Some work, but not a workable solution if you need to split the case.

Here's a pic of 1 of the 2 different designs I use, both are configured so that you can mount the 1-3 cyl case half with 3 bolts as seen in the picture below:

When it's time to install the 4-6cyl case half, just add the 4th leg & bolt to the 4-6 case side.
