Electric window problems
So, I flooded the Alarm Control Unit (leaking hood well tray) and gradually the locks and windows packed up.
I had the unit repaired by Turner and they seem to know what they are doing as when I reinstalled all the locks work...but no joy on the windows. I get various voltages at the sockets and actuating the switches does feed power to the sockets but does not actuate the motors. So I obtained two new motors, and they don't work either! I have checked the two fuses. I'm a bit lost as to where to go next but maybe the ACU isn't fully repaired, or there is something else I am missing. There does appear to be an electrical unit in the base of the passenger side (UK) door, and I cant identify this in my Bentley manual...perhaps this is the culprit. Any help or views gratefully received! Miles.... |
For those interested, this turned out to be water and corrosion in the electrical connectors on the A pillar (between the door hinges). Both sides were rotten and I had them rewired today....everything working. Worth investigating early on if your facing window issues...good luck, and when you do get it back its a joy!!
