I was also looking to avoid and drone and I bought the Brombacher 'sound version' muffler from FVD. It is like the Dansk in that it keeps the OEM outer design, but lets more of that flat 6 sound get through. I also recently added cat bypass pipes. Great sound with absolutely no drone, and nearly as quiet on the highway until you put your foot down.
I was always interested in the fister/pedro type bypass also, and I think it is 'no drone' since it keeps the OEM muffler. There are a lot of exhaust options and price ranges, so good luck on your search. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1366899546.jpg |
Pretty sure that is a Dansk Sport with different tips installed

Price has gone up in the past few years, but Rhonda may offer a discount for forum members (no affiliation). FVD Brombacher Online Shop - BES98605000S - Sport Muffler "Brombacher" 986/S Boxster (Sound Version), Stainless Steel, 2x90mm - EXHAUST → Tuning → Muffler |
