Wind deflector rattle

Hey guys,

I am geting an annoying rattle/vibration from wind deflector. Of course, this is with top down and moving pretty fast. Anyone have this problem? Is there a way to tighten this up? Do they make a deflector with small holes to let a little air through that might help?

Thx

Sounds like the top clips are getting worn. I think the real fix is to replace the clips prior to the plexi glass taking flight. Others have zip tied over the clip to secure in place, which I hear works well. I placed felt pads at the bottom of the glass to hold it in place mainly becasue I was going to lump new clips in with my next order or parts....

Use a small tie wrap around each one of the wind deflector hold-down clips and tighten.

Yes I lost mine at speed but managed to reach back and grab it. Replace the clips on the deflector. They are essentially leaf springs in plastic. The spring back of the plastic is required to maintain the "lock" of the clip. I tested this out and found how poor the spring action is in old clips. Replace them both even if they are not broken. Carefully pry off the old and snap on the new.

At the bottom of the frame replace the foam pads with Wurth foam weatherstripping cut to size. Stick the new pads on in the same locations.

When you put put your "new" deflector in you will have a nice tight fit

Just wanted to add to this. I had an extremely annoying rattle coming from mine as well. It really drove me crazy.

Thanks to this thread, I bought new left and right clips and installed them the other evening and wow, no rattle now. Such a cheap and easy fix and it works great. I'd gotten so used to it that it's odd to have it be so much more quiet when driving. Thanks again!

Wind Deflector Installation Kit:Porsche Parts & Porsche Accessories - Wholesale Porsche Parts & Tequipment - Cayman Panamera Cayenn

SunCoast Porsche has them in stock. Look to see if the small tab is broken off. That is what happened to mine. You could barely see it. Easy to replace. The ones that fit on the plexi glass are just a press fit.

Forgot to post the link to the part on the plexi glass.

I had an annoying rattle on mine but just put a few small pieces of electrical tape on the plexiglass window where it was rattling at the attachment points and that fixed it and you can't really even see the tape. That was 4 years ago and still rattle free.

I simply removed mine and stored it in the cubby under the clamshell.

The glare was very annoying.
