Update 986 to 987 key remote
I've just transferred my old key and transponder to the new remote and since I couldn't find a way to retro fit the internal into the 987 remote therefore I'll be carrying the remote separately... just like the good old days

Oh, so for the look and feel of a 987 key, you still need to carry the old one??

Evo, did you try to hollow out the 987, and implant the entire remote into it? the circuit board is pretty small, dremel a hole into the 987 for the button to protrude and presto!
I presume you looked into that route (seen some of your other handy work), why couldnt it be done?

Seen some of my handy work? in VWVortex or MDX forum? Thx! I did a quick test fit and know that it will need more modifications. Will try it when I have more time. Has anyone done this before?

Do you have an original three button remote on your 2003 Boxster?

I never knew a 986 had a remote with three buttons, even online order replacement only has two buttons.
What does the third button operate?

Just received the aftermarket remote/key from eBay, the quality is ok consider it's only $22 shipped and includes a blank key blade. Now see if I can retro fit it into the 987 remote.
