Locked out of my Boxster

HELP!!

2010 2.9 Boxster - went to change the battery - closed the bonnet - got new battery - can't open bonnet or boot - I guess the releases by the drivers seat are electrical not mechanical - and need to open bonnet to get battery in.

Anyone know how to open the bonnet in this situation before I eat humble pie and ask my local dealership tomorrow??

Cheers
Steve

The good news is that you're not the first person to have done this.

Looks like you have 2 options: feed 12V power to the C3 fuse, or dig in your wheel well for the emergency release cable. Check out this thread for lots of details...

Good luck!

It's not C3 on a 987, See post #5 from the owners manual:

I see they moved the pull-out terminal. On my 986 it's on the bottom center (roughly) with a frunk icon.

It could be worse....I took the battery out completely and went to Autozone. When I came back with the new battery, I realized that I had closed the frunk. DOH! I then had to undo the plastic in the wheel well to manually release the frunk. It DID work, but it was another hour I won't get back in my life.

I have been successful now several times by putting 12 volts to the cigarette lighter with a jump box then turning off the alarm. Do not try and jump the car through the lighter just use it to give the alarm enough to be turned off.
