Did I pay the right price?

Hello everyone,

I finally took the plunge and bought myself a Boxster S. I got an '03 Seal Grey Met on Porsche Red with only 21k miles on it. Here are the options that came with the car:

Code Option Description
265 996: Self dimming interior rear view mirror with rain sensor
266 996: Exterior mirror dimming / heat
288 996: Light washers
288 Headlight washer
551 Air Deflector (Cabriolet)
601 Litronic Headlights
981 All leather lining
983 Leather seats front and rear
983 Leather seats front (NOT REAR)
C02 Equipped with catalytic converter

I paid about 35.2k in NJ. Did I get a good deal on it or no? Just curious to know. Thanks in advance!!! I've attached some pics below.

WOW! That is a nice looking Boxster. You paid a good price especially with the options. Hopefully you will make many memories in it.

I think you did fine....in august I paid 37,900 for an 03 S with 18" wheels, xenon lights, heated seat ..with 10K miles , in OK.

Good looking car ...have fun.

I paid $30K for my 2000 S in silver and red with 10,000 miles exactly a year ago, also in NJ. It didn't come with Litronics, 18" Carrreras, sideskirting and GT3 front bumper (another $5K, GT3 seats another $2K).
but It did come with the full audio package and stonguard vinly clear bra.

Price is not always the most important factor in this type of decision.. I am sure you could have paid alot more or less. The important thing is that you got the car you wanted with, hopefully, the right options at a price you didnt mind paying. I searched for a few months and choose a 1 year older car than I was looking for. It was at the lower end of my budget and it happened to have great miles.. 24k and 99% of the options I wanted.. 18 inch wheels, litronics, psm, full leather color.. triple black... It was just the "right " car.

I love the looks of your S, Seal gray and red interior! Excellent choice. Forget about the price and enjoy it!

Kindly,
Joe

Ditto with Audioguy! A function of price is also "value". Having the car you want and being happy plays a huge part in the value to you. And that's all that matters at the end of the day.

35.2K for all those options sounds like a steal

Thanks!

Thanks for the nice responses! Yes...it's a really really early Christmas present for myself!!! Hehe...I've had all Japanese cars (and one American car) all my life. This is actually my very first European/German/Convertible/Sports car!...I LOVE IT!!! Now I see why people buy European/German cars even though there's always comments that they're not as reliable as Japanese...now I know...

At first, I didn't think I got a good deal. I guess because I saw another Boxster S with all my options plus 18" wheels, PCM (Navi), memory and heated seats for only about $37.5k and in addition to that, it only had 14.7k miles...the thing though is that when my friend and I looked at the car, he said that it seemed like it had some bodywork done to it and the leather seats seemed like it had been used for more than 14.7k miles. I guess the owner didn't take care of it too well.

I'm so glad I got what I have though! I do love the color combo. My favorite color has always been grey and black...but the Porsche Red interior is very unique indeed! I think so far I'm the only one with this color combo in my area...well I really don't see much Boxsters or even Porsches here either...Feels so good to be different and unique! Thanks again!

Some suggestions for you on interior car care:
http://www.drivewerks.com/catalog/shopcart/CARE/POR_CARE_einszt-detail.htm
I only use 1Z interior products. On the dash and tires its 1Z vinly and rubber protectant. Skip the armor all.
On the seats I use 1Z leather care and Lexol to keep it soft.
On Black Plastic Klasse VLRP is the best product I've ever used.

p.s. a silver hood crest would look really great against that color grey.
