New stereo, alarm problem
I installed a new stereo system in my wife's 2000 Boxster for Christmas, but the alarm beeps when I lock the doors and it goes off randomly. Anyone know which colored wire I need to connect to what to stop this from happening?

On my 99, the ground wire connects to the radio chassis. It is on the left with a female spade connector. The male spade connector is on the metal surround also on the left. I think the color is black/green, but I wouldn't swear to that. It's short. Only about 4~6 inches is accessible.

Look at the head unit you removed. You will see that there is a sticker on one side of it. (I think it is on the left.) If you put a piece of duct tape in the same position on your new head unit, that may solve the problem.
Good luck. |
Here's a picture from an 01 wiring diagram. The alarm contact wiire is on the far right. It's brown / blue. Hope this helps.
