control arm ball joint reattachment

I have been having trouble reattaching my ball joint to the wheel carrier after replacing cv joint. it is very stubborn when i press down on the control arm to clear the top of the b joint. what is the best method for reattaching it without having to touch the alignment bolts? how is it typically done?

Is it caught on the lip at the top of the receiving cavity? That's a problem I have had. Very annoying! I ended up smoothing out the lip a little to allow the shaft to slide in.

thank you. i may try that when i reinsert the joint. yes, that happened when i was removing it. i am hoping that it doesn't get caught inside the upper lip again on the way back in. right now i am just trying to figure out how to get enough downward force on the control arm to lower it below the wheel carrier just to get it in the hole. i may chain some freeweights to it and see if that helps

I had a large bar and lever it down enough. You also have to make sure the angle of the bolt is correct or it still won't go in no matter how low you get it. Should be simple with 2 people but I eventually managed to get it on my own.

the bar is a good idea to get more leverage. i may have to try to rig something together to do that. i appreciate everyone's comments. if i cant get it alone, ill ask a friend to come by this weekend and lend a hand. thanks again y'all!
