Correct me if im wrong but this man is selling a working 986 engine for $1300, plus rims, steering wheel, gauges, seats, brakes, and other stuff. So its a great deal. anybody scared of ims well this is the solution backup engine.

That's what I was thinking, looks like a good deal on spare parts, plus it would be easy to spot any oil leaks.

Skrapmot 04-10-2013 05:14 PM

It looks like he modified it to state that its for the tranny only!

patssle 04-10-2013 05:34 PM

Darn, was expecting a 914.

The ad states that "This auction is for the 5 Speed Transmission. The engine, sensors, wiring harness, maf, and ecu are available separately to the winner." I wonder how much he/she expects to get for the motor after you spend $1300 on the gearbox.

Who the hell wakes up one day and decides to make a go-cart out of a Boxster though?

Why bother mentioning the weirdness of a go-cart when all you want to sells is the transmission?

I'm still liking the "roll cage"

Skrapmot 04-11-2013 04:12 PM

I like the turn signals ! Was he trying to make it street legal?

I agree. I would have bid

if it had proper roll cage.... and not a decapitation device... then I would love to drive that thing at my local autocross!

Actually... just get the sawzall out to cut the mouse trap part off and I'd drive the wheels off that thing. Literally! LOL.

At least when people ask to see the engine...
