pelican porsche tax
want a 16 mm triple square xzn bit for your 5-speed transmission drain plug?
given that it's not a Porsche part per se, go to pelican; here's the part in the Porsche section: Pelican Parts - Product Information: PEL-TOL-ST0229 and here's the part in the vw section: Pelican Parts.com - 16mm XZN Audi/VW Drain Plug Socket notice any difference? |
Apart from price, the less expensive Audi/VW bit is 3/8 drive and the more expensive bit is 1/2 inch drive. However size probably doesn't account for the difference in price which I believe was your point.

sure, they are not the same, but they accomplish the same thing. Porsche guys get the $35 part, vw guys get the $10 part.

Hmmmmn. Good work Radiumking and since your online, I just followed another thread you were in about bigbrake kits but when I went to their page it was blank for BOXSTERS!! Do you know if I can put those cayenne S brakes on my S??
|
boxster s brakes are the same as the 996, so check the 996 page for big brake (997tt, cayenne) kits.
|
thank you I will do that.

As much as I like Pelican (which is quite a lot), this confirms that it still pays to shop around. And/or if you feel like the Pelican Tech Project support is worth the "tax", then pay it gladly (which I often do).
|
Before I would buy either of them, I get one from Snap On for about $10.
