Intro

Evening folks - a quick intro here. My names Mike, some of you probably know me from Rennlist as THE Mike D. or from the 914World as Sparky. I've been absent from the Porsche World for awhile now. But I'm back, and this time I may have stepped into it.... Recently bought a 2000 Boxster that was supposedly a flood car. I cant find any evidence of water damage anywhere. Nothing in the oil, nothing under the carpets, nothing anywhere. Now I looked this over several times before pulling the trigger and paid less then a dollar per model year :D or as my wife said "too much". It currently has no battery so I cant try and start it and have no idea how long it's been sitting.

My plan:
Pull and check the plugs and leave them out
mist a little Marvel mystery oil in to each cylinder
put in a fresh battery
try and turn it over by hand a few times (clockwise yes?)
plugs back in - cross fingers and give it a whirl

I'm sure as I go along I'll have a ton of questions.

I love an adventure! I have a year to get it running before my oldest takes over my DD. I figure in a year I can make this happen.

Welcome to the forum.
I'm sure you will be able to find here all the help you need, and some that you don't :D
Where are you located (if I may ask)?

Welcome!

I wouldn't be too worried about the engine, I'd be worried about the electronics. If any water got into the interior, the immobilizer under the drivers seat is probably toast.

Good luck and keep us appraised of your progress.
