Dingy looking motor

Im rebuilding a motor. I had pressure spray it several times. Once before it was sent to LN to be sleeved and twice after it was returned. It 80% assembled now but I'm still not happy with the finish. Heres the question. Has anyone ever painted the entire engine while removed from the car? If so what sort of process did you use.

Why would you want to paint it? Paint would basically make it harder for the alloy case to shed heat.

There was a craze in Germany a few years back with bike engines being powder coated, looks awful IMHO, but each to their own!
