I'm an airhead!

Well sorta, but that's always up for debate. Last night I pushed home a new project. A 1974 911 Targa. Needs a bit of work but I think it will be a good addition to the stable. Now I have one with the motor in the front, one in the middle and one in the rear.

Now for pics...

And don't worry. Despite the 911 guys taunting. The Boxsters not going anywhere!

Looks like fun! I would love to have something like this to tinker with.

That is the same year and make that started me on the path of loving all things Porsche. My parents bought it new in 1974. Except the one I drove was yellow.

When it is running make sure you use the red lever just to the right of the emergency brake when starting cold. Many a Airbox has been blown by stepping on the throttle when starting.

Fun car. No power steering...no a/c...no worries!

I have a bit of work ahead of me before I attempt starting it. I did order one of the "toilet seat" pop-off valves that I might install just in case, but proper use of lever is something that I will have to remember for a while until it becomes second nature.

And I don't have to worry about a water pump bearaing doing this!

Don't even think "might" with the pop-off valve. I had two 911's and could hear them pop occasionally. Not hard to install and will avert a very expensive repair.

The best day in a guy's life is when a project is either pushed in or out of the garage! :D
